We have some really great news - it's what we have all been waiting for. From Tuesday 1st September we are able to play full competitive games of squash and racketball!
England Squash have outlined the rules in which this is allowed so it is important that you follow their guidelines. They can be found here:
In summary, players can form bubbles comprising a maximum of six players and full-court open play is is permitted within each bubble, with the following modifications:
We encourage you to create a bubble with those you wish to play. Remember a bubble can only comprise a maximum of 6 players.
To allow you to manage your bubble, we have provided sign-up sheets which are displayed on the notice board near court #2. We have put up six bubble sheets, but more can be added. We can have as many bubbles as are needed, but remember you can only be in one bubble at any time.
Before taking part in any non-socially distanced squash or racketball, you MUST you do the following:
1. Write your name and the date on a bubble list together with those you want in your bubble
2. Each player within the bubble must also sign on the list to confirm they will adhere to the England Squash bubble regulations. These are displayed in full on the notice board.
Please note that players can still play outside of a bubble, but they must continue to play 'sides' or socially distanced routines.
It’s important that as a club we collectively create a safe environment in which we can enjoy playing our sport. Although different to what we are used to and restrictive, you must follow these guidelines to help make squash flourish at Fulwood again.
We all want to return to normal operation as soon as possible and it’s the club’s intention to relax these restrictions over the coming weeks and months as advice from the government and our governing body - England Squash - evolves.
We have also created this handy video guide to help you visualise the new rules. We know it is frustrating but please help the club to comply with the rules we have been asked to observe for the health and wellbeing of our members. Your help in this matter would be very much appreciated.
We hope you find this information useful and we look forward to seeing you on court soon.
